Important announcement regarding the closure of our music production program
In February of 2015, we started the Night Vision Music Academy. We started because we wanted Edmonton to have a place where beginners to get the help they needed and electronic artists could develop themselves. It’s been one of the most fulfilling and challenging things we’ve ever done as both individuals and as a collective — and we wouldn’t trade the experience for the world. So it is with heavy hearts that we announce the closure of our music production program, effective September 2017.
Why are we closing the school?
We received the opportunity to help develop and open a new school in Los Angeles. Adam Johan, our head instructor and co-founder, will be moving to California to open the I/O Music Academy alongside his friend, collaborator, and now business partner, Andy Caldwell. The IO Music Academy will be entirely separate from Night Vision and the Night Vision Music Academy.
What will happen to the Edmonton space?
It will continue to act as the Night Vision HQ, the home of our label and shared studios. DJ lessons will still be offered and we’ll be hosting the occasional workshop. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the space or lessons. If you have any questions, are interested in lessons, or have ideas about using or renting the space, please contact learn@nightvisionmusic.com.
Is there a last chance to take a course?
Yes! We will be offering Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 one last time starting July 18th. Follow the links above for more information on signing up for the Summer Courses.
Can I still take DJ lessons and Private Music Production Lessons?
Yes! We will still have DJ lessons available and private production lessons.
We want to thank all our students and supporters over the last few years. It’s been an incredible privilege to work and learn with all of you. Thank you.
